I thought it was closer to NASB than to NIV on that matter. I\\\'ve been impressed on the literalness of the ESV. There have been a number of times I\\\'ve been reading through and found myself stumped on the meaning of a verse only to look it up in NIV and other translations to get a more clear idea of how some have interpreted that verse.
