The movie was amazing. You should probably read no further
if you don’t want to be ruined by my outright plot spoilers, repeated bursts
of praise, my adulations of worthiness and some Scriptural illumination so I’ll
contain my glee and let all three of you readers decide to either click on the
Happy Husband or come in. Honestly there will be spoilers so don’t click if you
haven’t seen the movie. |

Last time we discussed baptism we offered up brother Rory’s
contention that salvation is impossible without the rite of baptism. One of the
texts he used in support of this baptism being salvific was Ephesians 4:4-5
illustrating this point of One baptism being for the forgiveness of sins. My
first post started to question the usage Ephesians 4 as this defense and in
this post I will explore the different baptisms mentioned in Scripture. |

Recently a person commented on one of my posts which was a
general call to salvation. I distinctly remember not intending to write the
post and in fact, had another article planned. I was doing my own personal
study and was moved to really post the gospel. By the grace of God several
people responded to it and wondered about salvation, praise God. The
commentator summed up the article as being fatally deficient…the fact that
baptism wasn’t mentioned. |

Call it part of my heretical mindset. Attribute it to my
fallen nature. Lock me up as a sheer lunatic. The following may take some of
you (few) readers by surprise and the rest of you (good sane folk who don’t
read the Archive) likely won’t care. When I was growing up I wanted to be a
Jedi. I still do. |

There once was a young man named Nicky. Nicky had his eyes
on Jen for quite some time. He would look longingly at her and sometimes he
would catch her brown eyes looking back at him. Finally he screwed up the
courage to write her a letter which confessed his love for her.
