Went to a church today where they had just completed some
renovations. On the door, beneath an illustration of a crawling baby and the title
“NURSERY” was a quoted verse: “…we shall not all sleep but we shall all be changed…” 1 Corinthians 15:51

Wow, I'm in a bad mood. Stayed up till 2:10 AM before I
succumbed to sleep only to be awakened at 2:35 by my wife asking if I
was going to go up to bed. I would normally have had my daughter
down in the crib by 12:30 to 1:20 or so, but we're at my in-laws and
the bedroom is up about two flights of stairs. The girl wakes up at the
slightest sense of transference from human arms so by 2:00 she was
still fussy. Be that as it may, she finally did go into the crib, but
then the next hours were loaded with fitful sleep as my wife spent the
rest of the night leaving the room dry heaving.

From the joyful worship that accompanied the dedication of Solomon’s temple to
the disastrous division of the tribes that resulted from Rehoboam’s foolish
pride; from the establishment of the unified dynasty of David’s son to the
depths of immorality that accompanied the reigns of most kings from Rehoboam to
Zedekiah; from the awe-inspiring revelation of the God of glory to the absolute
destruction of Solomon’s glorious temple by Nebuchadnezzar — 2 Chronicles is the
objective, unflinching record of a people who forsook obedience to the Lord and
fell from the golden days of Solomon’s rule to the bitter ashes of captivity in
Babylon, and this in less than 400 years.

The Carnival is up at Christweb. This upcoming Christian Carnival will be hosted here, The
Bible Archive. In spite of my occasional heresy, I was graciously allowed to
host. All I ask is that you get me those posts by 9 PM Eastern Standard Time on
Tuesday the fifth. This way I can
compile your post into something pretty and hopefully sensible.
Remember, Dory has a hot
system where we email our entries to one address ( ChristianCarnival@gmail.com
). So get those posts in by Tuesday the fifth at 9:00 PM. Remember, you can
submit earlier so I can compile as I receive! Rock, rock on!
