No, I just can’t go away. Girls found that out in high-school and now the Blogiverse discovers the same thing. There’s some chatter going on that I have “quit blogging” (okay, the chatter is only in my living room) or that I’m ready to spring back with all my restored posts from my old database (okay, that’s only in my dreams)—but I assure you, those are in fact only rumors (or me padding my own importance). Here is a small update of what’s going on since I lost the Christian Christmas Carnival and like a million other posts.
Update one is that I finally got any posts that I had saved (sort of) organized. That means some form of progress underneath the heading of Strikingly Boring so I’ll leave it at that.
Update two is that I have gotten a bit snippier with the crash of my old hosting company, their continued ability to disregard my emails, the brutality of selling a home by myself, the wonders of purchasing a new home and the multifaceted projects from my current workplace. That all may be safely filed under the category of Also Strikingly Boring, but I assure you, it’s foundational to my snippiness and therefore drives my lack of commenting on blogs unless I find something really provoking (you decide if that’s a good or bad thing).
Update three is that I have been doing an insane amount of reading although I haven’t been doing an insane amount of studying. Before I was studying something different just about every day of the week albeit in some sort of series (ie: Genesis every morning, Romans at night, Mark on Tuesdays, Greek and the Gospel on weekends) but I have found that after my hospital visit I have been slow in getting back into form. (Update two should also be taken into account in this case).
The positive side effect of this is that there might be a bunch of reviews on Piper, Putting Amazing Back Into Grace, The History of the Bible and several other books. The negative (well, for some of you anyway) is that I have really been annoying by several positions, found my current reviews being saturated in snippiness and thus need severe editing.
Update four is that my 9 month year old daughter took two steps on her own, realized she was by herself and promptly sat herself down wondering how on earth she got so far without an adult. She’s been cruising the furniture for a while now and although my son was walking unassisted at 7 months (freaky, I know) I have a feeling that this girl will soon bear the title of Walker and quickly thereafter Climber.
I’m amazed at the differences in their personality, though. She is very much a scientist (studies everything) whereas my son is very much the artist (sings everything). My son was the type to look into a mirror and make faces. My daughter is the type that squints at her reflection, opens the medicine cabinet then looks at what’s behind…not the glass, no—that’s too common—but what is being concealed behind the glass. You couldn’t stop my son from giggling, my daughter will furnish you with two pointed and abrupt giggles, put aside the silliness and it’s back to studying.
Now, I don’t want you to think that I’m saying she’s a bore…no such thing. She crawls and cruises about, experimenting with different sounds and vocal formulations while picking up a toy and dropping it. My son would do the same things but his vocal formulations were more akin to a vocalists warm-up sessions and the toy dropping was closer to destruction. My daughter is trying out the sounds, occasionally switching the pitch with a quizzical expression before sighing with satisfaction and moving on to the next sound. And upon selectively dropping an object have noted that she’s actually grasping Newtonian physic.
Have I mentioned that I was also currently reading some books on science and economics? Anyway, I’ll wait only about a week more before I start posting semi-steadily again. I must make sure to mention that Brian (God bless him) was instrumental in keeping hope alive by offering me a mini-site. At one point I may have even have thanked him ala Paul and asked him to make haste in bringing me a cloak. Anyway, like I said, I’m still trying to wrangle an answer from my old hosting company but until then, God bless you and keep you.
